Wirral street signs stolen

8th September 2011 | Warning Signs

Street signage on a promenade in Wirral that commemorated a local war hero has been stolen, indicating that businesses may want to be wary of thieves stealing their warning signs.

The section of Kings Parade promenade was named after Ian Fraser, who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his efforts in World War II before passing away three years ago, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Mr Fraser's daughter-in-law Leah Fraser told the newspaper:"We were all shocked that thieves would steal something that was dedicated to someone who did so much to serve his country.

"Ian Fraser loved Wallasey and I believe many of his friends and people who knew him will be saddened and angry by the actions of these thieves."

It comes after the Milngavie and Bearsden Herald revealed that creators of warning signs in Bearsden have been told to restart their work as a result of an error on a roundabout in the area.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800722769-ADNFCR
