Children at Upton CE Primary School have been educated about fire safety by local firefighters.

This initiative should boost the pupils' understanding of fire safety signs and aims to teach them how to locate fire hazards and conduct stop-drop-and-roll manoeuvres, according to the Malvern Gazette.

Nicky James, class one teacher, said: "All the children thoroughly enjoyed it and it enhanced their educational experience."

Included in the group of fire fighters was Ian Welton, whose son attends the school. The fire experts also taught the children about how to use fire alarms, which could prove to be vital if homes are engulfed in flames.
