Businesses could invest in office signs as a way of encouraging staff members to turn off lights and their computer when leaving at the end of the day.
According to Ian Hall, head of sales at Granada Secondary Glazing, energy conservation will become a bigger deal as we move into the future.
"So the more that everybody – companies and individuals – can do to reduce energy costs, the better," he noted.
"Energy conservation is uppermost in an awful lot of organisations' and individuals' minds now - we have all got fuel bills at home that are increasing," Mr Hall went on to say.
Businesses can save energy and water in a number of ways, and initiatives could be set up within the office to help staff cut costs.
For example, members of the team could earn green points for carrying out energy-saving tasks, with the leading contributor being given a prize at the end of a fixed term.
