Waitrose in Canary Wharf will see its aisle, escalator, door signs and other wayfinding infrastructure come under fresh scrutiny in the coming weeks, following a revamp.

The store has undergone a refurbishment with the help of branded environment specialists Household, which was tasked with improving the overall shopper experience.

Consultants were required to create an intuitive experience targeted at the modern store customer, specifically geared to meet the needs of the living and working population of Canary Wharf.

Household managing director Julie Oxberry explained: "We started by identifying four design principles; guide me, show me, inspire me and more ideas for me, these principles would underpin the extended role of in-store communications, delivering the right experience to the customer."

She demonstrated how they had specifically targeted the store's unique customer base by creating a "lunch choice made easy" and "weekly shop made easy" focus to differentiate between residential and working shoppers.ADNFCR-2754-ID-800742359-ADNFCR
